JOHNNY BARBATO Born
in Baton Rouge, LA and raised in New Orleans, Johnny got
a dose of Coon Ass Boogie from birth. The Louisiana
roots still run deep in both Johnny's vocal style and
songwriting. Moving to Alabama in the mid seventies
proved to be the turning point in introducing influences
such as Hank Williams , the Allman Bros , Marshall
Tucker and on. Today Johnny runs his group up and
down the coast with boundaries expanding as the group
just signed its first record deal with "ROCKIN CAMEL
RECORDS" owned and run by Legendary producer Johnny
Sandlin and Gadsden mover and shaker Carl Weaver. Good
things are on the horizon.
Johnny has been
a mainstay at the Florabama since the 80's coming and
going through the years but has managed to log the past
5 - 6 years on a weekly basis. "There is no better place
to learn your craft than Florabama".
Presently the THE LUCKY DOGGS are gearing up for festival season of 2008
with JAMES PROCTOR on drums, DAVID MOODY on bass, JOHN
SEYMOUR on guitar along with
Johnny.

PROCTOR JR.
James was born
in Washington D.C. , a city with a vast
musical culture. James started singing in
the church choir , which was directed by his
Aunt Rose . At the age of 16 James joined a
local act that happened to need a drummer
and as fate would have it , James discovered
his talent to play the drums. James
continued on playing in Rock bands , blues
bands , jazz ensembles and even country
bands. Later James would hit the road with
the fabulous Little Royal who was
James Brown clone.
Four years later
James joined the Navy and did a ten year
stint which ended with him being stationed
in Pensacola . James fit right in with the
diverse Pensacola scene , playing multiple
instruments with several of Pensacola's
favorite acts. James logged time with LAZY
DAY, SHAWN CURLE , TIGER BLUE and many more.
Currently
James is the new Drummer for the LUCKY DOGGS

DAVID
MOODY Native
of Satsuma Al. and one of my longest musical
friends . David Moody is someone I could
never explain , but could count on all of my
life. Willie Nelson said he picked band
members 90% man 10% musician. David
Moody is a man and a friend.
David has several
irons in the fire including a long time
effort in production under his company name
"BUZZIN COUSIN". David is capable of
practically anything.
David has a very
simple approach to Bass , one I welcome and
works well with everything else going on in
this band at times.
David and I , both
shared the stage with long time friend and
mentor JW SLYDE. One of the greatest
performers and best songwriter I ever knew.
David honed his skills in playing Bass for
JW.
David also
introduced me to alot of the lifetime
friends I have in the music community ,
locally as well as from places like Austin
and further west.
I am extremely
honored to have my long time friend by my
side , cleaning up my periodical messes ,
and helping me rebuild this band , and my
self-esteem as well.
Thank you David! |
